If you have spent money on a kit to polish your dull plastic headlights, the fine polish included is great for cleaning and polishing up scratched or dirty face shields in the shop.

I have used it on clear and tinted shields, and it works great!

Thanks for sharing Steevo, I have a nice face shield that I'm sometimes scared to wear due to scuffing it up :lol_hitti

I will be more apt to use it now :D

Yes, used the 3M kit on my headlights then did my face shield. Also used Meguiars Headlight Protectant on both, a step many miss.

If you restore your headlights, you "should" also buy and apply a new UV coating. I believe there are several companies that make an aerosol spray can, or if I remember correctly people were using a 50/50 mix of spar urethane and mineral spirits (not 100% if I remember that right) and using spray guns to apply that in the professional world. I was doing it for extra money for a while before every company on earth came out with a kit. But anyway, when you sand the lens down that coating was removed. The topcoat you applied will only last a few months if you are lucky and the lens WILL keep fogging up faster than before (im betting the companies count on this since they don't sell the UV coating with the kit)

I'm curious of the cost effectiveness of this. I haven't bought but one face shield and don't recall it's cost for the replacement lens. I have never purchased a headlight restoration kit. I understand having extra restoration kit on hand negates the cost, but is it cost effective to purchase the kit solely to extend the life of face shield lens and safety glasses?
