I am planning to put a bord an the wall where I will have tolls that I use most often. Any ideas how to place them? Which at the top/bottom?

I will use something like this

Right to left....largest on the outside smallest in the middle going both ways.....thats how I did merchandising when I was in retail forever

You could also go smallest up top and largest down low

I just made it up as I went along... and I change things when I don't like them. For me, I want easiest access to the tools I reach for most often.

Frequency of use close to where I stand. For me that is the center of the board. The rest spread out in somewhat groups. It automotive, woodwork, etc.

Anything that can fall an hurt someone low enough that it will not or stored some other way.

It wouldnt work for me, I might hang things I didnt use often there but if there was a bench in front of it it would be a reach, if your benches were narrow it might not be such an issue but all my running wall space is used, there are welding machines, tool boxes, standing shelves. For me personally that would be box shelves or cabnits there likely.
