Tips on Getting HF Box below Marked Price?

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this topic. So, if someone feels it needs to be moved feel free to do so.

Several years ago, Harbor Freight would allow the use of their 20% off coupons on everything. Now, toolboxes and welders are prohibited.

Are there any tricks you guys use to get the 20% discount or ways to get the managers to come down on price? We all know those boxes are made for pennies on the dollar so 20% off isn't hurting them on their occasional toolbox sales.

Thanks
John

beginning to see alot of coupons for 339 for the 44"... cheapest i've seen. i wouldn't argue at that price. when i bought mine i got mine for 349 and that seemed like a good deal to me. might be made for pennies on the dollar but they're a good bang for the buck

Find a box that has been damaged and talk to the manager about a lower price.

Returns are sometimes sold at the parking lot tent sales for discounts. Although you might feel that you missed the boat with them now not taking the 20 off coupons.....I believe the price was higher back then which negated much if not all of the 20% coupon.

I've only been looking at them for over a year now, and $339 is the cheapest.

I heard of a person getting management to honor the 20%, but that's rare and extremely on HF's end. You can always ask, worst they can say is no.

I bought a 44 a couple years ago. The cashier asked if I was an inside track member. I was not. When I signed up I was able to use a 20 percent coupon for signing up that apparently did not have any restrictions on the box. So looking at it math wise the box cost 349 at the time minus 20 percent brings it to 280 add the 30 bucks for the membership total cost was 309 before tax. May be worth a shot. I probably should have bought the 56 at that point. Would have been about 630 assuming a 750 initial price tag.

I've been offered 20% off an item if I joined their Inside track club, I joined when the savings were bigger than the membership costs.

rsablack posted a few tips on how to get the price down on a similar thread a while back.

I forgot to mention I have the 44" model top and bottom with the side cabinet and extra side drawers. I'm looking to upgrade to the 72" model.

If you already have the 44", maybe just buy a second 44" setup? That will add up to more volume than a single 72".

Insist that you get the discount.
If you don't get it throw yourself on the floor screaming and kicking till they give in

Let me know how long it takes for them to give in, I'm starting a pool

The 56" and 72" are deeper than the 44" (really 41"), actually the 56" is almost the volume of 2x 44".
