Tips on installing lift?

Im having concrete poured soon, the concrete company didn't mention anything about reliefs (well more specifically where they were going to put them). Im having a 24x25 slab poured and Im looking to put an Atlas BP8000 (http://www.atlasautoequipment.com/products/two-post-lifts/bp8000) lift on there.

To maximize my area and be able to park both cars in there I wanted to put the lift as close to the edge of the slab as possible (and potentially near a relief if they put one at the 12ft mark), Im just wondering how people go about mounting the anchors to the lift close to edges...the slab hasnt been poured yet so I have some leeway before anything is permanent to make adjustments.

I emailed Atlas and am waiting to hear back, wondering if anyone here had some first hand experience with this.

I believe the manual says at least 6" to the edge or expansion joint etc.
I would not try to convince yourself you can get away with not following... people have tried and some have failed.

It's good you didn't have the pour yet. I was looking at the same lift, but my garage literally have the relief joint every 8' in both direction, making it almost impossible to place a lift and avoid the joints.

Decide the placement now and be very clear about where they are going to cut the joints.

My concern would be how deep the pad is. Even with reliefs, you can still put in footings in to take the weight as we had to do in our shop. Builder cheated on the pour and only made the pad 3 inches. Reliefs didn't work. So we put in 2 ft base for the lifts.

I'm assuming while in NY, you have a foundation for frost protection? If so, dowel some hairpin rebar into the foundation to tie the slab with the foundation wall. Add wire mesh 6x6/1.4 in your slab.

Im going 6in deep for the pad with mesh and rebar. They haven't discussed where the reliefs will be yet, every contractor seemed to have a different approach/sizing.

Im assuming with 3-8' wide sections I would be good? I was nervous with just one joint down the middle at 12' that I would be right on top of one of the reliefs.
