I will post pics of my aerobic septic system. But I have looked up how to maintain and set timer but timer isn't exactly working the way it shows on YouTube. So I know to turn on breaker and pumps kicks on inside tank and smelly water comes out of the sprinklers. But I'm not sure if the pump has a delay to shut off or it supposed to cycle? I set the timer and I understand in order for timer to work a switch has to be placed in the middle position. Upper position will kick pump on when float is raised. And bottom position will not kick on system. So this is the way I understand it and this is what I have been getting so far. I flip breaker on and with switch in bottom position or in middle position the pump still kicks on and stays on.

So unsure if the sprinklers are supposed to cycle for a while before it will cut off after the timer position has been adjusted. I'm going to show pics of my model and inside my covers. Or do I need to call and have this maintained?

I have an aerobic system but have a drain field instead of sprinklers.

Mine has floats in the pump tank and a timer to control the dosing to the drain field. If the level is low, it doesn't pump. If it's in the working range, it pumps based on the timer to maintain that level range. If it rises faster than the timer controlled pump can maintain, there is an alarm float that will go off and I have to put it in manual control to pump it down some.

Hard to tell from your pics, but if the tank level is high, it may need to pump a while to get the level back down.

Texas state law requires that you have the system maintained by a licensed septic service. If you don't you will be fined. I had a friend take the classes so he could maintain his own (tight wad). Then they changed the law so you had to apprentice to keep your license. Mine cost me $175 a year for maintenance and they do all repairs. Cheap.

Well thanks for the info. Can I have the info on the people doing your maintenance for 175? I called a company locally and they told me 125 just to show me how it operates.

I still have a while before I move in but just trying to make sure system is operating correctly before I do.

Little update: Called the installer of my septic system and told him I just realized my septic has to be maintained by a licensed professional and asked a little about my system. He said it depends on the county whether you can self maintain your septic and just so happens I'm in a county I can self maintain but I asked if I could get on a maintenance plan and see how that goes and it would run me 250 a year with him..

Just thought I would share this info.
