I finally figured out how to use my machine. Wheel is a 10.5x20 reverse mount and had two practice tires, a 275/30/20 and a 285/30/20. Both tires are run flat sidewalls so even stiffer than your normal ultra low profile tire.

Pics of the 275/30/20, as you can see it's a fairly skinny tire for the wheel, hence it's stretched.

The key to mounting/dis-mounting any tire is to keep the opposite side of the tire you are working on in the drop center. Hard wood blocks work well. Also, don't let the any part of the tire already over the rim slide up into the mounting area.

Proper lube helps.

Actually mounting these tires are quite easy with this machine. It's a corghi Artiglio master 26. It's considered an automatic tire changer as a tire bar is normally not used as all the functions are done thru the joysticks on the control panel and the foot pedals. Tho in these tires the sidewall stiffness was so much that the demount head wasn't strong enough to get the bead high enough to demount so a bar was actually used to help keep the remounted bead above the wheel edge.

Yes you're right, the tire bead must stay in the drop center. Pictures are of dismounting the lower bead and don't show the upper bead where the assist arm is needed to keep the the bead in the drop Center on the opposite side of the wheel where the demount head is. The block of wood may work tho these tires are the most difficult I have ever encountered. At the tire store I used to work we mounted and dismounted these tires on simple turntable machine without any assist arms or fancy tools, just know how and a couple of tire bars. My coworkers could do this faster on those machines than I can with this, albeit with much more effort and technique. We used liquid tire lube similar consistency to dish washing soap. I use the euro paste on my machines. My other machine is a hunter tc3500 and it is quite a bit more effort compared to this machine.
