I have a generic brand dial one of these
http://www.tooltopia.com/astro-pneumatic-3018.aspx

When I got it years ago it was very accurate. Now about 7 years old, it is off by 5-10 psi when I check with 2 other digital gauges I have, that match each other's readings.

I have been considering a decent digital one like this Astro Pneumatic that has pretty good reviews on Amazon. My question is does anyone have long term experience with this or other brands? I would like something that will hold up over the years and retain it's accuracy.

There was a Moroso dial (inflator & gauge) one I saw a few years ago that was considered to be top notch.

If a digital can last, I would prefer over the dial, but either that is good will work. Any recommendations?

**** Dang, just saw this posted in Hot Deals, if a mod could move it to Tool Discussion please, or if someone can tell me how to do it, thanks

I prefer the Milton pencil style, I have one I used as a daily carry for over 10 years. Still accurate, you just can barely read it anymore because the lines are almost completely worn off. Just checked it the other day against a calibrated pressure transmitter at work. Replaced it with one just like it, I don't carry one every day anymore so I expect it to last my remaining lifetime. I have a Milton dial gauge that is 15 years old that while not used nearly as much, checked dead on accurate as well.

I have no experience with Milton's digital gauge, but if I wanted that style I wouldn't hesitate to get one based on my past experience with the quality of all my Milton stuff.

I couldn't imagine paying $58 for a tire gauge. I prefer a simple analog type with no battery and electronics to go bad.

I just got this one to replace my old Cyclops that developed a leak.

pair it up with this locking chuck.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AZJYDQI/?tag=atomicindus08-20

its a winner. very easy to use and read. what I like about it is that I hook up my air hose with a quick disconnect. then clip on the chuck to the valve stem and I don't have to hold any air chucks. I'll take a reading and press the handle to fill with air, if its' high there is a bleed button. couldn't get simpler.

I gave up on the electronic gauges, the problems with leaking or dead batteries are not something I want to deal with.

I really like that Astro Pneumatic one (3018). I use it daily at the shop and have never had an issue with it. For the price it can't be beat. Accurate, easy to read and fairly durable.

I have one digital gauge that I hate because it needs a battery and because I'm constantly having to push the button to restart it because it times out. I won't have another digital for that reason.

I own a tire shop. I have the Blue Point version of that. It was @ $100. We use it more than you can imagine. We sell ~6k tires a year. I only have one. Everyone loves it. I'm not sure about that model, but the blue point digital version is great. We use it all day every day for the last two years and it has retained accuracy to half a pound, and I have not had to replace a battery yet. Absolutely no complaints. I assume that is the knock off.
