Hello! I been looking to get a tire machine for my home garage. A friend of a friend offered me his lightly used Mac MWS220S machine which he used while having his drift car but since the car been sold he has no use for it. Can anyone chime in on the quality of MAC tire machines? Btw, he wants $1000 for it.

I think $1000 is a bit high for a used rim clamp machine. I would want to pick one up for around $500 or less. You can get a brand new off brand rim clamp machine for around $1000.

I'm willing to bet mac is just rebranding another machine.

I am also thinking that’s it’s rebranded Chinese model. Same as they sell on Amazon.

You should be able to find plenty of used COATS rim clamp tire changers for 1K, or less even. The best part is that these are all USA made machines that are everywhere (typically that’s all you’ll see at tire shops) and you can easily find almost every replacement part you’ll ever need on eBay or you can just call the company. Just make sure to carefully review the specs as some machines will only do up to 18” rims. Also, don’t worry about how a used machine will look. Most tire shops never clean up their machines since they’re so busy using them. A big plastic scraper and a bottle of Goo Gone and most machines clean up quite nicely. I have two COATS machines so let me know if you have any questions.

Ask at a local chain tire shop. Usually they replace their machines after so many months. I got my Coats 7050AX and 1050 balancer for $800. I spent $500 on parts to get them working.
