Decided to go with the plastic tiles but seems like the prices range widely. I am in Florida and the garage is mostly closed. I have decided against vented plastic ones due to the fact my garage holds water in some areas and it may not drain.
From what I see and like are the coin type plastic tiles. I noticed different thickness in some not sure if that makes a difference? I also read someone placed a planter bed black drop sheet under the tiles to make them quieter? Any suggestion on where to buy? Just looking for something under 2.25 sq ft if possible?

Be careful with cheap plastic tiles. Make sure you are getting a good, American-made product that is a nominal 1/2" thick. TrueLock HD or HDXT, RaceDeck, Swisstrax ( I don't sell) are all quality brands. TrueLock standard is decent for the money but an only Diamond pattern. Here are the ones we sell https://www.garageflooringllc.com/garage-floor-tiles/

You may want to take a look at the solid PVC industrial grade www.supratile.com that we carry. With the GJ discount they run about the same price as good quality hollow plastic tiles and carry a lifetime warranty.

Hi
The tiles loose lay and the joints fit tightly together. We do recommend leaving about 1/4” of space around the perimeter to allow for expansion and contraction. We also recommend gluing down the first few rows if your garage gets direct sunlight as from warming up they can expand and temporarily buckle a bit (so do plastic tiles).

Welding sparks and such are fine. Welding slag could create a burn or discoloration mark as would be the same with plastic tiles or epoxy so if you are welding put a pc of sheet metal or welding mat under that area. No flooring can withstand welding slag temps in the thousands of degrees without some marking or damage.

I would use the flow through tiles so rain water can evaporate - unless I’m missing something.
