Titan Tools...

What's the general consensus? I'm inclined to think "import ****" purely on the stuff being sold at O'Reilly's.
I did spot a rather spiffy set of O-ring/Seal tools this morning for under $5:

I snagged a 4-piece set of 3/8" extensions in different lengths some time ago and they were great.

I bought the Titan 3/8" flex head 18 inch ratchet for $38 on Amazon. I've used it to remove factory spark plugs on a Camry with 140K on the clock, as well as factory plugs on a 12 year old John Deere riding lawnmower. I've been using it for about a year, excellent budget ratchet.

Those seal pullers **** for removing seals. For o rings I suppose they're fine. They're pretty cheap build quality.

Titan has some popular stuff, like their micro ratchets/bit drivers, but it's pretty much run of the mill cheap homeowner stuff IMO.

I was thinking of just having them for O-rings. Sometimes I've had to deal with 3/8 thick 16in diameter O-rings, other times some so small I need a magnifying glass.

Own the xtra long 1/4 ratchet, micro ratchet, dual drive offset ratchet some sockets and adapters and all works pretty good.

I have the o-ring spoons and they're fine. The handles aren't 100% flawless, but they're good enough and more. I also have a few scrapers that hold razor blades and also no issues. Not sure if I have anything else.

I dont mind the titan stuff.
Ive used titan picks ALOT, they are consumables to me.
Usually pick up a pack of them every few months.
I find them to be pretty damn good.
I cant imagine SO or MAC etc being much better.
Now the blue/black powerfist ones are complete garbage.
Now id assume the o ring picks are the same quality/metal.
Any titan tool ive used i had no problem with them.
Another ive used alot are hex sockets large and small sizes, metric and mostly SAE.

Most of the stuff I've handled or purchased has been pretty good (mostly mechanic type tools). I would consider it high-end for the homeowner/DIY crowd but just mediocre for the ******** enthusiast or professional.

I have the Titan seal removers. They're small picks with rounded blades for o rings and quite handy. They're not meant for axle or engine seals. Titan tools range from pretty good to meh. They make ratcheting screwdrivers for MAC as well as a 24 inch long quick release flex head comfort grip ratchet.

I have a fair amount of Titan tools. 1/2 inch drive ratchets- 24'' flex head , 24'' non flex , long 1/2 inch with offset handle ( knuckle saver ) extra long 3/8 and 1/4 inch ratchets in both flex and non flex. tiny 1/4 inch drive ratchet. the ratchets are not high tooth count but they work well for me as a DIYer. also have three breaker bars from Titan - 1/2 inch drive by 30 '' long and 3/4 and 1'' drive by 40 inch long. the 1'' drive breaker bar is a beast.

From what I've seen Titan has mostly the same stuff most other Taiwan brands do, so sort of generic brand wise. The stuff I've bought is decent, but I dont go out of my way to buy it either.

The seal picks work very well for o-rings and some hydraulic seals. I have a Snap-on set though, mainly because at the time no one else offered them.

Sold at some of the cheaper suppliers around my area (Central AB, Canada) and for the most part I haven't bothered to buy many Titan products.
However, we have quite a few of their inexpensive wrench sets back on the farm for leaving in various pieces of equipment as they do the job in a pinch and you won't lose sleep over misplaced items (unless of course they go through the implement and cause havoc).
My roommate (electrician) has one of their ratchets for similar reasons, if it goes missing on the job site he won't be too upset.

I think Chih Tai Y & S Co., Ltd. is the OEM for both Titan and Mac.
I have the same seal removers packaged as Grand Rapids Industrial Products, with blue and black handles. The spoon finish is kind of crude but can be touched up with a file. IIRC these same removers can be found under a variety of other brand names.

The quality of Titan tools varies. I've come across their made in Taiwan stuff and their made in China stuff. Their made in Taiwan stuff seems to be halfway decent while their made in China stuff feels cheaply made.

for close to a a year now at work and they've held up. I run a small battery on my M18 impact driver and dont do much with it over 14 or 15mm, but they've been good and they came in little plastic trays that worked good enough boxed into the corner of my box that they've not broken yet either. Solid imo

I have the 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 comfort grip ratchets (among others), and they’ve held up far beyond my expectations. I’d buy them again.

They offer a long chrome handle 1/4" roto ratchet, which doesn't seem to be a common item (most of their stuff is ye old typical decent Taiwan tools), and mine's been great the few times I've used it. It's not super ****- just has "Chrome Vanadium" and a part number laser etched on the handle.

I keep meaning to pick up their tiny bit ratchet and stainless scraper pry bars.

I recently bought an 18" ratcheting screwdriver, really good, it's got a range of bits which store in the handle, including an adapter to use 1/4 drive sockets on it. gets a hard life and has been faultless so far. I bought mine from Aircraft Tool Supply so it must be reasonable quality for them to sell into the aviation industry.
