TITANIUM MIG 170 wire feed question for you guys

I don't know if this is by design or not but there it a bit of a delay (maybe 1 second) between me pressing the trigger and the wire feeding. I think maybe this is by design to allow shielding gas to flow before the arc is started? I got this as a returned welder so I don't know if this is by design and I'd love the input of someone w/ one. I don't see it mentioned in the manual anywhere.

I have the Titanium 170, great machine. Bought it brand new.
Yes, the delay is normal, mine has always done it.
