Anyone use one of these or think that it might actually be useful?

Eric the car guy reviewed it, and it looks like it might possible be OK in some situations. It seems pricy at $50 though. I would think with extensions and flex head stuff, it wouldn't be necessary.

I like Eric the car guy. He even did a video on how to fix an x-box. I enjoy his videos of things I know about, as I like to hear his opinion on things.

Interesting. I've never thought about a tool like that.

Maybe I've needed it at some point, but a specific instance doesn't come to mind right now. The video shows it being used in many cases where is surely isn't needed.

It would be fun to play with one for a bit. Would it earn a space in my toolbox? Questionable...

I saw that eric the car guy vid! I'm a regular watcher of his. I liked how he was able to use a 3/8 impact on that bolt with just a few inches of clearance. $50 does seem steep...but we all know that we're getting one though :p

Like most tools of this type.... you will only need it once in a blue moon, but that once
could save tons of time and allot of knuckle skin. As a DIYer though, a bit too rich for me,
especially as it would cost 50% more for me in England.

I'm a huge fan of Eric the Car Guy, and when I saw the Tite Reach tool review I thought
about the intake gasket job he did on a NIssan and how unbelievably useful that tool would
have been for him to access and undo the lower intake manifold bolts. It would have probably
saved him an hour and allot of frustration.

It says impact rated at 400 ft-lbs.
In the right situation, that could take the place of an IR hammerhead. Tempting.

Oh Snap...you're right about that. Heck of a lot cheaper too. Plus you could use it with electric or pneumatic tools.

I wonder how they hold up professionally?

I forsee lots of rounded-off heads when using impacts because of not having three hands to keep all of the parts steady and in place.

It seems pretty cool and safer for hand tool use, but wouldn't a long-handled flex head or roto work in virtually all of the applications we'd consider this for? Doesn't the 3/8" one look like it's got a thicker profile than most ratchets, preventing it from working in the confined spaces we'd need it for?

I do love how the video shows a bunch of fasteners out in the open being wrenched where you could just use the most basic standard-length fixed-head ratchet. That had me cracking up. Like...why on earth was the guy using it on that drain plug that had nothing in the way? :lol_hitti

Price points are $40 for the 1/4" and $50 for the 3/8", btw. The adapters are $% each + shipping, and you're going to want 3 or 4 backups if you plan on using the thing regularly, especially any size you're going to use with an impact. I would label it "gimmick" until they can show anything to prove otherwise. It's a really neat idea, but I don't think it's going to work out as-is. Seems like something that would collect dust and eat up space in my box.

Look for Sears to rebrand it Craftsman and put an LED light on it. We're all going to get it for Father's Day or next Christmas and never use it.

That kind of function must have come up recently i guess since something similar found its way to my amazon wish list.

These are sized, not universal, but same basic idea:

Cal Vans

Could certainly bail you out a few times over the course of a career I'd say.
