Picked up a TL72 pretty cheap recently but it binds a little and the selector lever moves up and down a fair bit.

Took it apart and there is only one ball bearing on the selector, is this correct?

I have been through 3 different T72's this year and it always starts with the spring on the selector switch and the switch bobbing up and down.
Followed by inconsistent seizing.

Your package was probably saturated due to the grease breaking down in the ratchet from heat and humidity during shipping.

For me these are the only Snap on ratchets I have ever had problems with normally I would care but I hand it to my guy and get a brand new replacement.

Go to the Snap on site and enter the ratchet # (TL72) when the page comes up on the left hand side click on view parts catalog, it's easier to see on diagram then explain where that ball goes.

Thanks, did that and there seems to be a part missing -

The V shaped flat piece of metal (I assume metal) in section A is missing from my TL72 ratchet?

I have the short handle T72 but it takes the same kit, never had it apart, ever since SO went to Dual 80 individual parts are unavailable, looks like you would have to buy the entire kit but $10usd isn't too bad. On the older ratchets like the 936 line you could buy items like the selector switch.
