TMG industrial 2 post lift

bought this lift the other day, got caught up at an auction , and paid $1600 for it..havent seen any reviews on it so just wondering if its worth keeping or maybe i should sell and get a more known brand, my primary use would be light trucks ( 1/2 ton) ...any input on this from the experts? i know its an off brand, wont be using it a ton but dont want a complete death trap either..

Looks good to me for $1600. I've never heard of that brand, I wish I could help you but I just don't know about this one. Have you found any reviews online?

I've never heard of the brand and I've been in the industry 23 years. That being said, of the hundred (plus) some odd lift manufacturers over in China, there are probably 600 lift brand names out there..It would **** to get it almost finished and then find out you are missing a critical piece, because chances are good, you will never figure out exactly who to get it from. I would suggest selling it on CL or Ebay and put the money towards a product that you know will be able to supported, if needed. The better known brands will also carry some sort of liability insurance in case (heaven forbid) something does happen. (Remember that the large majority of lift related accidents are due to improper usage, not a manufacturing defect.)

I think you are going to take a big bath if you try and resell. And you will probably have issues trying to ship it at any reasonable cost.

They have a website. You have some hope of getting anything wrong taken care of now. You may be able to figure out who made it. TMG is obviously just an importer.

These are simple devices and it doesn't sound like you are going to wear anything out. Most things that might fail can be fabricated or repaired.

I personally wouldn't put a 10000 pound vehicle on it but you are going to be using it at ~1/2 "rated" capacity.

I would install it, use it, and uninstall that auction app....

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I am wondering what your result was. Did you keep the lift or sell it? I'm keeping my eye out for a lift and see lots of these lifts popping up on local auction sites. Trying to find a review on them.

I actually sold it, decided I needed the space in my garage more than I would actually use the lift. the guy I sold it to is still working on his shop so it isn't up yet

I'm pretty sure I have seen a bunch of skid loader quick attach blades with the TMG Industrial branding. Plan on it being completely untested, uncertified, and uncertain whether you will ever be able to find parts or service for it.

I have also seen the skidloader blades since then, some new and more that have been used and abused....
