sorry no 440 in my set yet
440 Combination wrenches- Beautiful tools. Ridiculously strong. The fat fishbelly shank makes them easier on the hand, but I don't know by how much. The case is very interesting, but I think might take some getting used to.

Is this a Stanley thing?
I found a website with a 16 piece set 6-24mm for roughly 130 dollars before vat but I emailed them and they ship to the u.s and I dont have to pay vat whatever that is, vat would of raised the price something like 50 bucks

$130 sounds like a good deal depending on shipping. That was $130 U.S. dollars, right? If it was pounds it would be much more due to the weak dollar.....probably in the $230 + range. That's still not bad considering a set of long pattern SK in the same sizes would be close to that price.

Well, I clicked on Mr. Schoendorff's link and saw one very ugly wrench; I think I'll pass on those.![]()

Lol looks mean nothing to comfort

Yea, but there are so many other brands that offer both, why settle for just comfort when you can get looks too, and many times for a smaller cost?![]()

I agree 100% but then again I like the look of those
I think at this point, someone should actually try them - in practice - before we all dimiss them.

I do hope the evil empire hasn't outsourced the fixed wrenches - the ratchet wrenches (like most others) are already Taiwanese, although I can't knock the quality.^^^^^^^^^^^^^Sorry, the shape of those simply looses me, I simply do not find the design asthetically appealing, though I am sure they are a damned nice tool. I can easily see good design lines even in the roughest and rustiest of tools, but plate and shine cannot cover what to me is a lack of appealing design.
But if they are your thing, more power to ya!![]()
They are, in fact, already available individually. I haven't pushed the button yet, because I've barely been in the garage in weeks, but I plan to try one in my most abused size (13mm, required to adjust my lawnmower) and see how I get onI'll report back.
I'm slightly troubled by their not proudly proclaiming 'Made in France/the EU'I do hope the evil empire hasn't outsourced the fixed wrenches - the ratchet wrenches (like most others) are already Taiwanese, although I can't knock the quality.
My toolbox is based on practicality, not a beauty parade![]()

My apologies, I did not mean to insinuate that you were drawn to shiney objects.
I am..
maybe that's why i spend so much time polishing/cleaning my tools.

My apologies, I did not mean to insinuate that you were drawn to shiny objects, but rather despite the fine job of plating on the wrenches I was still not impressed with the design of the tool.![]()

I don't know if we should begin comparing drawers full of dull, old, tools older than we are, I might just win that contest!![]()

Hey that's good too, we all have to have something to do to pass the time of day now don't we?![]()
