Guys while back I had posted questions regarding sheathing. Y’all opinion has guided me towards Zip 7/16 so I went shopping and found at HD several months ago that with their bulk buying would put it around 34.00 sheet. I’m not ready for it so didn’t want to drop that kind money then store it till I need it. So I haven’t look any till today. Well lumber futures has been going up so out of curiosity I check HD website and it’s about the same as last time. Well I never been Lowes fan so just for comparison I check their website.😳This can’t be right, says they have 113 sheets of Zip. Ok now look for pricing so scroll down little and see their price of (drum roll) 21.00 each. 21.00 guys this can’t be true, so I went by my local Lowes go to Pro Desk and ask so questions. She told me that is price but if I buy bulk they drop price to 19.00 sheet. That’s not all, if I apply for their card they take another 100.00 off total. Now that I am card holder the delivery is 20.00 Guys I can’t pass this up, I’m not ready for it but at this price I had jump on it. I just figured that maybe they getting rid of Zip not going carry it no more or it’s just big mistake. Delivery is this Wednesday so we see if it falls through and I expect it to, 21.00 is at regular OSB price and not Zip but it’s on their website. So I’m keeping my figures cross that Zip will be delivered Wednesday. Wish me luck guys

That's a great price. Of note, regular 7/16" OSB here is $11.10/sheet. The 7/16" Zip is $22.40/sheet.

Good call just grabbing it.

You get $20 delivery?? $79 here for anything, at least for those of us with the lowly Advantage Card, which is the same as without it.

The 7/16” and 1/2” zip panels have come down quite a bit the 9/16” is still very high.

Not sure what the deal is but here only Lowes carries zip as of now.

Good score. I've opened up several cards for the sign up promos. HD will let you have 6 at a time. Not sure on Lowes, only have one now. Their card also gets you 5% off all the time

New home sales are dead (intrest rates), well at least in the mid Atlantic region around DC according to a buddy of mine in this area.
This will slow down those greedy bastards in the building materials. No slow down with the petroleum based products is somewhat understandable.

For a point of reference, literally less than a month ago (January 10, 2023), the price per sheet was $34.70.

Kinda wish I could/would have waited.

Lumber prices are sort of like the stock market, up and down. Sometimes you get lucky and other days you are got.

They may of set him up for a pro account as they usually get $20 deliveries. The associates are pushed pretty hard to set up new accounts.
I was returning a few things the other day and a lady in front of me was buying a grill to be delivered and the delivery fee was $100 on a $250 grill. I know they use to have free delivery on grills over $399. She was too impatient to wait for the department associate to finish with others and may of been able to get a much better grill for a little more than what she paid for the 1 season special that falls apart.

For additional comparison, current standard pricing on 7/16" Zip here near St. Louis is $23.30/sheet through both HD and Lowes.

It looked like OSB to me. I've never used ZIP before so I have nothing to compare it to.

I'm going off what I remeber the backside and edges looked like on the stuff I used. I'll see if I can grab a pic.

It worked fine for a shed, but it's only been up for a few months, although I still haven't sided it. I did use zip tape as the reviews on the gp taper were absolutely terrible

Look what showed up today, 90 sheets Zip for wall sheathing. As in picture I see the edges are not painted like OSB. It’s going to be white before I get around to using it. Be storing it under my carport till needed, so I was wondering about taking a paint roller and painting the edges. I have gal of oil base primer that going to use on my sub fascia, but maybe I need paint these edges. What do y’all think

$23.85 bulk price around here. I might be able to get another 10% off for military.

Keep watching the price on the tape and grab plenty when you find the price drop along with a roller too.

I don't watch it as closely as lumber but I didn't think the tape was fluctuating. Are you seeing thr price move around?

Where I'm at Eastern Washington big box stores don't carry Zip, not sure the lumber yard does. In the Seattle area zip is $24.22 or $21.80 bulk. Good deal for you.

Don’t waste your time if it’s under a carport. Plenty of lumber yards store it in sheds that are nothing more than a giant carport.

I stored about 100 pieces of 1/2” zip outside for about a year under a half disintegrated tarp and had no issues.

I also used about 10 pcs of 7/16 zip on a chicken coop about 10 years ago. I never taped the joints or sided the thing. It’s still holding up fine.

I agree painting the subfascia may help if you get some water leaking behind your gutter and fascia board. Keep the paint for that.
