I forgot to look on the back to see if it had the date on it. I was in a big hurry to mount it on the wall.

Well Done!
I've used those sets a few times; they used to be popular at some of the auto hobby shops on the military bases I was assigned.
That's a nice selection of tools.

That thing is awesome. Great set of basic tools that you should be able to use the heck out of. Priced individually, I'm sure you have more than $400 in value there, right? I can see the cabinet itself going for over $100, easy.

If you sold the tools, in sets, on ebay, and sold the pliers and whatnot individually, you'd get at least $6-700 if they are in pretty good shape. And then you have the box. Real nice deal imo.

This is the first cabinet I have seen that had wrenches and a 1/2" and 1/4" drive sockets. And also the tune up kit. I had to walk by it a couple of times. Then I decided I had to have it. The 1/2" wratchet and braker bar had surface rust on them. But everything will clean up good. I couldnt just leave it on the floor so I hung it on the wall. Two of the screwdriver handles need to be replaced. Hopefully the snap on guy will take care of me this week.

The san diego auto swap is at qualcomm. It was at one time every other month but now it is on memorial day and labor day only.

I think that's a really great wall set. When I was younger, back in the 70's, a neighborhood fire department had a set that looked identical to that hanging on the wall, at least from my memory.

If that were mine I would have a lot of fun watching ebay and classifieds looking for exact, time correct, vintage Snap On replacements to fill the holes. Also, cleaning, polishing and restoring everything. That is really something to display and be proud of (and use.) for years and years to come. Congratulations on the great find.
