this past week I got myself a new TIG. when I saw this midchest in blue it made me think of my TIG and my desire to build a new welding cart.

I saw this welding table at the farm show where I got my TIG.

http://www.millerwelds.com/products/workstations/arcstation/

and got to thinking about a welding cart that had a work surface, some drawers ans then hold the welders at the bottom and then the tanks at the back

the color is not as close as I would want but perhaps I would paint it

That is a great deal with many possibilities. The clamping system in the arc station is a nice feature to.

Have you used the diversion yet? If so how do you like it? Looking for some feed back on one. Thanks for any help that you can give.

I used the demo one at the show just a little. originally I was not looking at the diversion because its a 'low end' machine. I was going to get the lincolin 225. I was talking with some people including the owner of fresno oxegen and they explained the difference between a transformer machine and an inverter machine. all the other inverter machines started at $3000 and went up. they have some really cool features, but in the end I thought that I would not really need those added features for the added money.

features of the inverter machine:
1 you do not need to change tungston when switching between steel, stainless, and aluminum.
2 you do not need to ball the tungston for welding aluminum. you can use the same pointed tungston you use with everything else.
3 the inverter machines have a tighter spark so it should be more controllable. more stable arc
4 the inverter machines heat up the metal faster than the transformer machines.
5 inverter machines have less of an heat affected zone.
6 while the diversion does not have this feature, the inverter machines will allow you to change the frequency of the output. this gives you more tunability when doing specialized metals

I just got the gas yesterday so I will be starting it up soon
