Not exactly a "you ****" purchase but I think I did pretty well :)

I was looking at that screwdriver set today to use my $10 off coupon, but bought the 10pc metric gearwrench set on sale instead.

Care to itemize your deal for us?

Very nice and what a good deal, some people like all the different colors, but when I get done with my tools they all turn black from grime, oil, dirt and chemicals. Still a very nice collection of tools!

Evolv screwdrivers - $5 ($14.99 w/o coupon)
Evolv pliers - $8 ($17.99 w/o coupon)
Evolv precision pliers - $5 ($14.99 w/o coupon)
Pittsburgh/HF ball peen hammer set - $12.99 ($19.99 w/o coupon)
HF precision screwdrivers - $3.99

I was going to get the Evolv precision screwdrivers but they felt a little flimsy. The HF ones are metal and don't have the stupid rotating caps.

Do the evolv screw drivers seem durable and well built or at least decent?

I was reading the evolv warranty info and it says its warrantied against defects in material and workmanship But doesnt cover parts that wear out from normal usage. So if i strip the screwdriver tip, im out a screwdriver?

I need to get some more screwdrivers one of these days. Somehow I have about 25 flathead on only 4 or 5 phillips which I can never seem to find when I need.

That's how I understood it.

I am quite happy with them so far, they seem to be durable and they are comfortable in your hand. I talked to an associate about the warranty, he explained that they ARE covered under a warranty (even if abused), just that you need the original proof of purchase. Although I would imagine that with enough calls and complaints they will waive that requirement.

That is a great buy and you have upgraded your tool set! I have an evolv 3 piece plier set and I also have the 3/8 hex mm/sae and torx for my offroad trips and they have worked incredibly!

Start with a decent screwdriver, and you won't strip the tip.

You will be able to complain all you want, from past experiences with Sears, if the warranty says receipt you will need the receipt. If you want a forever warranty buy the Craftsman, I would buy HF before I bought evolv.

Just my .02 worth
