Toe in adjustment adaptors are used with Sturtevant Richmont SLTC 750I Preset switch wrenches. It is Flare Nut wrench of 21mm or 22mm whatever be the case according to the vehicle model along with a reaction lever to hold the the nut on the other side of the rod.
The Flarenut has a counter bore on wrench opening end for a proper guide
and a through bush on the other end that acts as stopper which prevents the
wrench to accidently slip off & get on to the casting area which in times are parallel or inline to the Accrossflat area of the Nut and damage the same.
The switch wrench transmits torque of 50 Nm & sends signals to the PLC for interlock.
Suitable for VW Polo, Fiat Punto & Tata Manza Premium Cars.

The only vehicle I've ever come across whose tie rod setup made it necessary to use a real SST (special service tool) was the 1st generation Chrysler LH. Concorde, LHS, etc. Even that SST was barely better than a couple open end wrenches.

It seems the OPer's "Toe in adjustment adaptor" is used in concert with a controller like a PLC (Programmable logic controller), or some other electronic controller. I'm assuming this tool would only be suitable & justifiable, dollar-wise, on an assembly line. Very interesting, though.
