Where can I find the model # or model name of a toilet? We've got a Kohler that we're pleased with and want to get another like it. I looked inside the tank and there was a inked label of some sort and a paper label but I couldn't see anything that I could identify as a model number or name. Can anyone tell me where to find it?
Thanks

I also have Kohler. I think you will have to take picture and go to Kohler distributor to look thru the catalog. Unless you have the papers where you purchased it. The distributor should be able to help u. Not a box store item.

I don't recall seeing labeling that would identify it on any toilet. I have seen labels certifying that it meets some ASTM standard or other regulatory agency standard. I like the picture method mentioned above.
I have one that is an American Standard. It never plugs, no matter what I have to offer. I was watching a TV documentary on the development of bathroom fixtures and they showed an American Standard toilet that has a larger trap and outlet. It is designed to be plug proof. I looked at mine and sure enough, that is what I have. It will swallow hard.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I went and searched thru a large stack of paperwork on previous projects and, lo and behold, I found some documentation on it. No model #, but it did have a model name; and that model is still available. Sometimes you just get lucky.
Thanks again for your help.

Glad you found the paperwork. But, the Kohler # is on the "flange" that holds the tank to the bowl. Underside, use a mirror, on the left side, as I recall.

This is why I love my file cabinet. Filed under "T" for toilet. One ofthe best inexpensive items I have ever bought.

You nailed it, bbrz. I checked the flange and there was a number cast into it. I'll use that to verify the model number.
Thanks for the info,

Kohler toilets rock. I can't tell you how many friends and family members I suggested Kohler toilets too, they cheap out and put in the builder model toilets,, 2-3 years later they are replacing them due to inadequate flush. I know the Kohler's have a proprietary tank parts (i.e valves, floats, etc),, but they are worth it to me

Most likely the Champion 4. I have 2 of them. Haven't had a clog since getting them about 5 years ago.

I've had nothing but trouble with Kohler. Give me a Toto Drake with the G-Max flush any time.
