I have pvc for water line through out the house except for a short piece of brass that connects to the toilet tank.
my question is, does that piece of brass come with a tank replacement kit? if not how do I acquire it

can you snap a pic of it? if I am replacing a toilet, I usually inspect the supply hose and replace it if needed, it runs from the valve to the toilet

are you talking about the fresh water supply line to the tank? if so, no they don't come with a new toilet. re-use old one, or buy a new one at the hardware store. stainless braided flex is the easiest to install for a DIY'er, but they have nylon, metal tube chrome, brass, etc. that will need new ferrules...

if you mean something else, like an ancient tank that is high up by the ceiling with some special pipe and a pull chain to flush, I can't help you on that as I've never seen one in real life...

they sell those 3/8 compression to 7/8 FIP "toilet connector...." that will fit most setups, unless you have something special.
