Long time lurker, first time poster...

Hi, I'm Tom, currently living in the Bay Area (Novato, CA), but originally an east-coaster (Raleigh NC and Rockville MD). I'm an IT guy by day, but I do some autocrossing, HPDEs, and LeMons/Chump racing when time and budget allow.

What's in the garage:
'16 A4 (Wife's ride...I'm not allowed to touch)
'12 Acura TSX Wagon (My DD, dog hauler)
'97 M3 (Seats, bar, harnesses, lots of suspension work, still street legal)

I've read GJ for years, but only joined the forum recently. My primary goal is updating my mish-mash of tools with some reasonably priced USA-made stuff wherever I can. I have a bunch of stuff from Craftsman, Husky, Kobalt, GearWrench, and HF that I've collected over the last 20 years.

The GearWrench ratcheting wrenches will stay, my Kobalt trackside socket set will stay, but most everything else will be replaced. I've already sold a bunch of stuff, and I'm about to sell my cheap Husky rolling tool box on CL.

A LeMons racer friend has spoiled me with using his SnapOn ratchets and sockets, so that's my benchmark. My budget is certainly not new SnapOn/Mac/Matco/Cornwell, so I'm looking at SK, Proto, Williams, and used tool-truck brands. I'm in no hurry, so I can shop around for the best deals.
