Short story, they work.

Product picture in 100_1425_resized.jpg. Pricey at ~$5 each. Picture shows it armed. I set two the first night, next morning, they were gone...as in not in the original locations. First one I found under the car. I set that one immediately back by the wheel, where I found it. next day, one victim. The ants were having a feast too on the bait, but left the victim alone. Reset it and left it. Checked it after work, another victim. The second trap, I found a few days later under the engine. Empty. Reset that one inside the engine compartment. Nothing for a week. One day I was inside the house and I actually heard it go off. Another victim. The large wooden traps, they laughed at. Always found them set off and the bait gone.
No mercy. Why?
Reason one in 100_1426_resized.jpg. To give you a size perspective, there is at least 1/2 inch of ****, dirt and nuts in this picture. There are spark plug wires under there. One incident a few months ago, there was enough liquid from the little critters in the spark plug wells to cause the engine to not to run properly, although it idled fine. I had to diagnose the issue in 40 degree weather. Think I was happy? In order to clean up this particular mess, I need a screw driver to dig it up first as it's caked on.
Reason two in 100_1427_resized.jpg. That is the plastic wind tray at the bottom of the engine. I pulled out a lot of straw. Have not gotten to the dirt yet.
Reason three in 100_1429_resized.jpg. That's the cowling area by the wipers, with a glue trap, where they laughed at me. Notice the fur. They were stuck on it, but got out. So they covered it up with nuts and were still laughing.
Reason four in 100_1430_resized. That's a nest under the cowling. One victim was caught when I noticed two eyes peering out at me here. He tried to climb down inside the fender at the top of the picture, but I had blocked that route in preparation for him.
Reason five in 100_1431_resized.jpg. That's a section of fence. These things are sticky after they chew on them, so blasting with the hose, just gets water all over me. I have to dig them out with something sturdy, like a broom handle or one end of a crow bar.
Reclaiming of one car might be done since nothing in a little over a week. If no activity in another three weeks, will rinse and move the traps to the next car where there is similar evidence.
I'm sick of cleaning up rat ****. No mercy!
Of course the ideal solution would be to move the car back in the garage. It's on my list.
