Recent GJ member....got on here to seek advice and get some ideas during my project. I started with a cookie-cutter 2 car attached, with a terribly low ceiling height, especially for a pair of Jeeps. It started with demo'ing all the drywall, running new electrical where I needed it, insulating the bejesus out of it, running a gas line for a future heater, then replacing the trusses with the most aggressive scissor trusses I could get by code. Oh, and a vented skylight for good measure.

Lower 3' of the walls are cementboard, covered with galvanized, and the uppers are OSB covered with stained cedar fence pickets. The ceiling is getting a single run of galvanized along the eaves, with cedar to the peak.

Thanks gents! Mike, I wish it was a JT...that's my JKU with a custom soft top to make it look like a mini JT. The plan for the Gladiator is to eventually buy one though!

Nice. A quick glance and angle it looked like a new JT. I should have paid more attention and looked closer.

Very nice and clean. The galvanized sheet is an interesting approach. I have not seen that before.

Thanks all! I've had a lot of nosy neighbors stop in and comment that my garage looks better and cleaner than their kitchens. New garage door went in and I'm hoping to keep chipping away tomorrow. Once it's all wrapped up, I'm already contemplating a loft over the garage door for storage and new concrete. More to come!
