Hello Friends, I am new here and need some help. I jut bought a 1959 El Camino and it is too long for my garage. I dont plan to live here over one year so an expensive investment is not an option. I did see an exterior mounted roll up garage door that might help but I have no idea where to buy. Anyone have suggestions??

THANKS,
MARIO

Too long.......by how much. And a picture would be quite helpful. And, welcome to Garage Journal! And it also might help if we knew where you were from....at least a State.

Honestly, if youre absolutely moving in 1 year why not rent a garage in town somewhere that can house the car?

Maybe a friend or neighbor?

Id spend the cash on that before wasting any time or money on the current home.

Beware the rental spaces. I rented a 10 x 20 last year for my 68 chrysler 300 convertible, (19 ft/6") and I had to bump the bumper against the wall with a pad and then pull the door away to clear the back bumper. Oh, it went for $100 / month but was close, clean & safe.

I can offer you some free storage space in my garage.....but you'll have to leave the keys. Just in case. :bounce:

Thanks for the advice guys. I live in Santa Barbara ca and renting a garage will set me back $300. I was hoping to find a door that I could easily mount on the outside.

Same thing happened witha friend I sold my '69 Mercury Monterey to. He had to park on his drive & the *** end of the car blocked the sidewalk.
One morning there was a "Buy a shorter tank" note stuck to it from a neighbor..
