Okay, I have been building my garage for about a year now and am nearing completion. I had the pad poured about 7 months ago and was just going to leave it as raw concrete for several reasons.

1. I have heard that epoxy floors only look good when they are professionally done and that is when they are super expensive, ie. don't do it yourself.

2. The tile floors are expensive too.

Well after seeing some of the nicer epoxy floors, I have decided that is what I need to do to really finish off my garage.

Question is what should I use? There are so many choices. I am just overwhelmed. Do I need to do prep on my floor or just hose it off as it is brand new. Do I need to scour it or acid wash it? Do the cheaper floors (rustoleum etc) have any problems that I need to know about? I have heard of lift off from hot tires etc. What about cars sitting on the floor for a while. My non daily driver sits in the garage and only gets driven on weekends, will it stick to the floor?

Sorry about all the questions, I am just overwhelmed.

I'll make it simple for you. I spent months deciding which way to go!

www.epoxy-coat.com <--- great product and a great price! check out my thread to the details of how i did it. The only thing I was unhappy about were how I laid down the flakes. I did a sloppy job. Other than that I reccommend them 1000%

looks good. Are you happy with the results? It seems kinda easy. No need to sand the floor etc. How well did it go down? I guess my biggest concern is lift off or hot tire transfer after I have the product down. Any problems so far?

This defintely looks like a great option. The local epoxy flooring guy around here charges nearly $4/sqft and even getting an inside deal would still be $3/sqft. When my addition is done I'll have just over 1,000 sqft of garage floor.

So even renting a sander (about 430 sqft is 30 year old concrete), I'll save close to $2k.

I used Epoxy-coat. Only problem i had was it being 92 degrees. Alot of small bubbles. But its tuff. Where i spilled some on a spot i didnt want it. Had to use a chisel and hammer to remove. Also removed a layer of concrete. I had to do 2 coats. But didnt use flakes. Old rubber tire marks wipe up with a rag.
