I have consolidated several collections of tools into my garage. I have my own tools, tools from my dad that I inherited, tools that I bought as part of a group in order to get a Mac box several years ago and tools that I recently inherited from two different brothers-in-law.

As I try to sort through all of this stuff, I can already see that I have way more hammers and flat blade screwdrivers than a man could ever use!

What the heck am I going to do with 30 claw hammers?

And I must have 100 flat blade screwdrivers. Some are good ones, many are just cheap big box store stuff.

I think I might pick out the good stuff, and give the rest away on Craigslist or something. How much can you sell an old, no name hammer for???

I agree with the Habitat for Humanity donation suggestion...the tools will be put to use for a good cause and not just resold at a flea market.

The Restore is a retail store where they sell donations to the public to raise funds for their mission. Either way, a good cause.

Can you put together reasonable sets? Those will sell all day long on marketplaces or if you feel generous, give them to young kids as their first tool sets. My first tools came as collections of hand-me-downs of mostly worn out tools from my grandpa/uncles/parents friends/etc.

Start outfitting friends and family that can use them, or are just getting started.

Or, as other's stated, donate!

I would never keep that many off brand extras in a nice toolbox. I would sell them all for$20. Someone will pay that.

I travel the state for work, and always stop at Habitat Restores when I can looking for old tools, especially quality wrenches. So please donate them.

My oldest grandson is not quite two years old yet, but I'm already thinking about dividing extras that I have into sets for the boys. Granted, I have a few more years to get it done.
