Hello, bolt buster buddies! Just joined this fine mess of folks, 10 minutes ago! I may be too old for this, but here goes!! Always wanted a 2 post lift, for my maintaintance, and hobby vehicles! My motto is " If you need to drive old vehicles, then you better have 2 or 3, so hopefully when one breaks, you've got the next one ready to roll!! Having Lunch with a close friend, on my birthday 1/22/54, this past Tuesday, he showed me a benwil tp-7 car lift, that recently had become exposed to the great outdoors, when the steel building that housed it, blew away during a storm!! We stopped, and inquired about it, and the widow who had lost the user 2 years prior, said, she would love to get rid of it!! So $300 later, here I am Facing dissassembly, removale, hauling, and re set up! I would really appriciate, an owners manual, and or any technique tricks, for proper chronilogical dissassembly, in a safe fassion!! I think I have all of the tools necessary, and my friend will help! I am hoping to load this into a standard pick up truck! I now only wish I had found this 25 years ago! It is a functioning unit in good condition, with no frayed cables and looks to have been well greased! Here I go!! I am ready to work, and am greatful for any advise you have!! Thank you! Alan

Welcome to GJ Alan. So you purchased a lift in working condition for $300? Well let me be the first to say 'you ****". We'll probably find it in our hearts to forgive you given enough time but a thread on the disassembly, move and reassembly of your new lift might help smooth things over a bit sooner.

Alan, I feel your pain. First, my Bend-pak 10,000 lb lift shipping wt. came in at approx.1,800 lbs. The up rights are 12' 1" tall. That needs to be considered when hauling that sweet deal. Two people can walk the up-rights down to load onto the shipping vehicle. Standing the up rights up into an enclosed building can be tricky if you do not have ceiling cleareance. The top cross over bar and cables and hoses will need to be disconnected obviously. It's not that big of a job if you're careful and have some good help. Your concrete thickness is also a major concern.
