Volume cures all... Many people don't watch their expenses because "they are so busy" and since they are currently making a profit don't really care. But when business slows down, those that were wasteful spending usually end up going out of business...

exactly seen it happen last recession. "there's always money to make". "im too busy" "I don't care about cost" Just want to be a mindless consumer and wonder why they find themselves falling on their ***.

Guess I'm a part time tool abuser. I have nice tools I use in the garage and a lesser set I use on my rental houses. A phillips screwdriver doubles a punch to put a hole in drywall for a plastic anchor, a pair of Klein's and a screwdriver work to remove a knockout in an electrical box, the same pliers and screwdriver will also tighten the locknut on a conduit fitting. I big crescent wrench works as a weight to drop a rope down a chimney to pull a chimney liner into place. A hammer and slotted screwdriver work to get a hole started in duct work to get your snips in.

My rental house tools get rained on, dropped in the mud, fall off the roof, or stolen. I don't go out of my to abuse them, but it happens.
