tool aid crimper?

I saw a couple of member bought one of these ratcheting crimpers from tool aid...

how have the held up? They look like a good deal, but if the quality is not there, then I would have to spend more money for a higher quality crimper.

FYI this is just for a home mechanic. I use end connectors enough that i need something that works well.

Mine is holding up great. I'm also just a hobbyist, but I've used it quite a bit. Actually just used it last night on weatherpack terminals and insulated terminals. The dies switch out quick and easy and the thing makes great crimps every time. Will be using it again tonight and much of this weekend. Have a bunch of wiring to do installing new gauges and other accessories in my project car.

Also, I picked mine up new on Ebay for just over $50. There were a bunch on there at the time... Worth a check.

I have one I bought years ago. Have not used it much, but it worked fine when I did. It is good quality. Don't remember what I paid, but it was not as high as amazon. Got it on ebay. Think you can find the same thing under different brands.

I have the set also. I use it all the time. Makes great, strong crimps. Its easy to change the dies as stated above. I would definitely buy it again. I also have non ratcheting crimpers (probably 10 of them), now they don't get used much after I bought this set.

After you said it worked good with the Weatherpack term now im interested lol. Been looking around at Snap-On and such trying to find a good crimper for these. I usally use some plires for them and getting tired of it.

I'll probable end up buying that tool then. I plan on using a bunch of weather pack terminals to make the wiring harness for my jeep and that is a lot cheaper than most of the weatherpack crimpers.

Can i ask what other crimpers you found for them? I tend to use alot of these also.

I bought the re-branded tool off the tool truck. I don't have the interchangeable jaws, just the regular crimps, but they have and are holding up just fine under almost daily use.
