Tool and logo I.D. help....

found this yesterday at a yard sale, it is about 7-1/2" long, has "pats. pend." stamped on it, and a logo that has 2 E's back to back. on the "pincer" end, one side has been hammered over to form a lip. my best guess for it's use is to hold a nut in a small area so you can start your bolt, but not sure. also can't find any logo's that are similar. any help on age, use, or who made it would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

Whom might be the maker of these? I thought perhaps Goodwrench or Gedore but the Google Lens search yielded nada...heavy steel and seem well designed and made, 3/8" drive1000018913.jpg
