quote "This is unadulterated tool ****. The items in the 72-page catalogue are arranged and photographed for maximum droolage: the wrenches fanned out like decks of cards or showgirls' legs, the sockets marching across the page in shiny, sinuous lines. Men all over America are dreaming about caressing their flare nut wrench, fondling their ball end hex bit socket set." quote

thats just funny right there :lol

That's funny! and so true -- I had to think about the last part which stated

"You might be a Washingtonian if...."

--- I do call the airport "National", not "Reagan"
--- I still call the "American Legion Bridge" the "Cabin John"

but I had to think about the Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do TV commercial that ran decades ago -

I think it was a cute little Korean boy and girl that said the following

Boy: "Nobody bothers me!"

Girl: "Nobody bothers me either"

Great read, although it's a bit sad to realize that I'm closer to the "cannot assemble more than a paragraph" category than I'd like to be.

Funny story and timely. I keep reading other articles about how we here in America don't make anything anymore, and how it affects the economy. There is more money in information technology, financial services, etc.

Way he reacted to a Sears catalog he needs to get a Snap on. Or a mac catalog. Or maybe a Eastwood.

ADDED I would say GEARWRENCH but it might give Steve ideals.;)

For the average person, that does not have any history of working in the pro repair field at some time in their life (limited exposure to pro tools as well); the Craftsman catalog is probably the closest thing they will ever see that is similar to a pro tool catalog; which are truly drool worthy!
