Wondering if anyone has recommendations for good tool auctions in MA?

I've been looking for a rusty drill press, vise, and metal lathe restoration projecf - have been following craigslist but haven't found any that I liked.

I'm located in Boston but would travel an hour around.

Not an auction, but I've seen ads on CL for a used tools shop in Worcester. I think it may be a consignment shop. Haven't been there myself.

Might also look on f-book market place. It seems like more of stuff like what your looking at is being listed there than on c-list.

There is a place in Seekonk that sells used tools.

There is also a place in Colbleskill, NY. Yes it is a road trip for you (~3:30 hour drive from Boston), but you could also make it a mini-vacation, head to Oneonta and visit Brooks BBQ.

auctionzip.com is where I find the auctions I go to.

Note, be willing to put the time in to get what you want at the price you are happy with. Some auctions will bring out more people then others. Normally, the more tools they have, the more folks will show up looking for tools.

I am fortunate in that auctions are very numerous around me and especially into southern PA. I have found that if you miss a deal or something goes too high at one auction, another will show up sooner or later.

Thanks for all the responses! I have worked F-book marketplace, although find it annoying that you cannot set prescribed searches - they seem to want to drive recurring traffic.

I've very appreciative!

The guy in Worcester basically buys lots and then marks them up. It's called the Tool Shed http://www.used-tools.com/ Prices used to be good have not been there in years.
There's also a Tool Shed (same concept but seems separate) in Waltham. Also MIT Flea third Sunday of the month, April-October.

Bit more of a hike, but both Thompson and Stafford Springs motorways in CT have giant swap meets once or twice a year.

Another store option is The Toll Consignment Store in Swansea.

I’ve seen those too, but I’m not convinced the prices are that great without any warranty.

There really is not that many of us here. I think I have seen maybe under a 100 Mass folks here in my 5 years on this site.

The Big E is also a great source but it is over priced in my opinion also there is the Brimfield events.

Craigslist seems to be a dying medium most list of facebook these days.
