Purchased a SDS drill and Milwaukee SDS Plus on eBay within minutes of each other. I got a ship notification for the Milwaukee within 24 hours, I still have not gotten a ship notification from Tool Barn.

I messaged them to inquire asking "when will this be shipped"

and they replied:

"Estimated delivery at the time of check out was Friday, Feb 22, 2019. Tracking information will be uploaded once it becomes available.

Regards,

Seriously? They think that their item doesn't need to get here until Friday, Feb 22 when it was purchased on 2/13 and you don't need to ship for days and days?

Ironically- the location given is less than 100 miles away from me. I'll likely have it overnight depending on when it's placed in the mail.

This is unacceptable. The least they could have done was get it shipped by Friday- I purchased it on Wednesday.

You’d have to read their shipping policies etc.

Looks to me like they include like 3-4 days processing time in their orders and allow for 6-7 days shipment based on the estimates for most of their items.

Might be they’re fully within what you agreed to at time of purchase.

How quickly will my order ship?

We normally ship all in-stock orders within 3 business days of the date the order is placed. If an item is not in stock we will special order from the manufacturer and it should arrive in the lead time stated on the product page. Typically special orders take 7-14 business days to ship however that varies by manufacturer. In some cases we are able to direct ship from the manufacturer. If this is the case with your order, the status will be updated to "Direct Shipment from Manufacturer." Typically, this adds 1 - 2 days to the time it takes to ship out, and the actual transit time could be more or less than the estimate on the website

From their website. Still annoying compared to everyone else that I've ever dealt with on eBay/ordering online. Have not had someone wait this long to decide to ship me something I ordered.

It's usually best to know what the sellers shipping policy actually is - not just assume it's like everyone else's, a big problem with eBay buyers.

You didn't buy it "from" ebay.
You bought it "through" ebay.
Every seller there has their own shipping policy.
So far, you have no reason to complain.

Leave "admitted slow shipper" feedback.

that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm NOT happy about this.

Might be a rant thread but I'm warning other people that they are extremely slow in shipping. I've already told them to please refund my money if they can't ship in a timely manner. 100 miles away I should be getting it tomorrow.

If it was ordered on Wed 2/13 and their policy states that they have 3 business days, for normal shipment, that would mean that it would ship tomorrow 2/18, which if it goes USPS, would not be happening anyway, since it's a Federal holiday.

So, basically, it will be shipped and delivered within 4 days 2/22. Being "100 miles away", might mean very little, since they are not delivering it themselves, plus as their policy states, the item might be shipped from somewhere else.

They have 99% feedback (44,000) and are a top seller, so maybe their satisfied customers read their shipping policy.

And this is the problem with the world today...

If you wanted it now, you should have went to a brick and mortar store.

And just because you got a shipping notification, it does not mean the item has actually shipped. Just that a label has been created.

And I did. I got a 5 piece sds plus bit set from Harbor Freight yesterday, goes up to 1" and should be fine for 1/2" conduit. I don't know why it is too much to ask, having it shipped by Friday. I ordered a 1 1/8" bit from them on eBay.

Should have checked to see if CPO Outlet had the bit. That's where I got the drill from.

I'm sure you'll get your stuff. Eventually.

It's not really a scam, but I don't think it's 100% legit, either. Way too many jokers on fleaBay and Amazon are just dipshits in their Mom's basement with no inventory.

Sorry, I see no reason to insert yet another useless middleman.

The problem is that you have to do a lot of digging and reading to figure out which sellers actually have inventory to sell vs. which ones are useless drop shippers.

It would be nice if they had a rule or at least some sort of flag or filter for sellers who don't physically have the item.

Nobody put a gun, to the buyer's head, it was likely the lowest price, which incidentally, often comes, from sellers with the lowest overhead - because they are working out of their basement.

The irony is, that along with that dirt-cheap price, often comes the expectation, that the seller has a Amazon-level fulfillment center, that can expedite quick shipping. Some can, some can't.

It sounds like the seller is mostly within the timeframe of their stated shipping policy, which should be acceptable to anyone doing business with them.

If not, customers should shop elsewhere, most likely at a higher price.

.

Word. Everything i ordered as a kid in the 80s was "allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery".
Seems like i made it through it okay without ranting.

Just be glad you don't live in Canada, everything bought on eBay goes through their "Global Shipping Center" in Kentucky, which adds a week or more to the total time. Even if I buy from someone located in Michigan, they ship it south to the Global Shipping Center, then 2-3 days to turn it around there, and then back north again to Canada (which may or may not also get held up in customs).

Anyways, as someone else pointed out, it sounds like they are sticking to their shipping times posted, and you just happen to have ordered it around a long weekend. 3 business days from your Wednesday order means you can't expect it to ship until tomorrow. The actual shipping time likely won't be a full 4 days if you're really close, but that is just what they give likely as a worst case scenario for shipping within continental US. Waiting 3 days to have something packed and shipped is a little annoying, but it's not the worst thing in the world.

Only time I buy on eBay is when it's to get the best price, and I know to expect it to take some extra time to arrive. If I want something fast go Amazon Prime, that is guaranteed at your door in a day or two.

 everyone thinks that you shouldn't have to pay for extra services offered by many places. I wish there were more places that could hold inventory so you didn't have to order so much online. Had to miss a weekend snowmobiling because the fuel shut off valve and ignition coil i needed i couldn't find within 50 miles of me.

FWIW after all the griping here and complaining to them on Ebay I actually got my bit today in the same shipment as my Milwaukee SDS gun, so I'm happy. Even though I didn't even get tracking until this morning.

This is why I just order from Amazon, especially if I am in a hurry and then price shop later when I have more time. With my Costco Visa card, I have up to 60 days to find a lower price (on most items and auctions aren't included). Then I spend a couple of minutes on their website submitting the claim. They don't care about shipping or sales tax, just the price of the item
