Hey all you garage fanatics and motor heads, I am going to be purchasing a new tool box and have been looking at the 72" models by both extreme and Montezuma. I have talked to Shannon at at strictlytoolboxes and he has been helpfull. What I am leaning towards the Extreme box but have not made up my mind yet. Has anyone put there hands on both boxes to do a side by side comparison. I do not really see anything wrong with either boxe basd on reviews but again I have physicaly not seen either box. I do know that the main differences are in the framework, draweer fronts, and drawer pulls. Other than that I am not sure. Does anyone have the hutch and side locker and how do they stand up? Any feedback is appreciated. thanks

I have seen both (not at the same time) and I like the Extreme boxes better. Both pretty nice

I have the montezuma...can only say it's better than a craftsman, but not in appearance (spot welds show, etc). BUT if i were to buy over again I'd hold out and wait for a decent used snapon or mac. I don't know for sure on the extreme, but would venture the same results. If you are bent on getting one, for your money/quality worth it may be best to get a general/harbor toolbox - i know that brand has negative history, and they earned it, but I'd rather have a general box any day of the week than my montezuma box...just my opinion. I didn't have access to look at a montezuma box where i live, so i went on a gamble, live and learn...

I have heard the same about the Montazuma, ie spot welds and such. I am replacing two snap-on boxes due a fire loss but I erally need more storage area than I had. The extreme boxes are somewhat new to the market but the pro series carries a lifetime warernty (new this year). I know the snap on quality and durability cannot be beat but that does not come cheap.

Do you own either one of them and what did you like about the xtreme box.

I don't own either. I've looked very close and really like the extreme. I own several Snap-On boxes, a 90's Husky set and a big wood box I built.
