what color tool box should I get? its going to be a snap on classic 78. going from the clean motorcycle world to the dirty greasy diesel world. Im thinking gloss black? what you all have? any suggestions? I am a classic red box fan but the black is nice.

Diesel means oily black smudges everywhere... I agree, a black Snap On box is the way to go and they look great too! Best of luck in your new line of work! -Paul

I got elected the HD guy at my shop so I spend a good portion of my time grease coated up to my elbows. My cart is black for that reason. You can tell everywhere I've touched my red roll-cab. Not to say I wouldn't have bought my cart in another color, I just don't know how anyone deals with a white/orange/yellow box.

Go with PJK orange, PJJ green, or PCM blue. They look awesome. PJH candy apple is really nice but not sure it is available in classic 78 line.

rags....rags.....and more rags, put a little solvent on the FRI. nite rag so it can clean up a weeks worth of use, MON. morning as you come in for another week of work you well be glad you did. you'll never get it all off or clean just because the shop is working but you can steal wipe it down from time to time just to show the class act you are as a wrench, any color well show grime but black shows it less, steal try and wipe it down each nite to show pride in your ability to be professional, save the last work day to clean it off for the week.

DO NOT GET GLOSS BLACK. Looks sweet as hell when its clean but gets dirty SO fast. I work in a diesel enviroment and while its true that you wont be able to see oil spots oil attracts dirt which means it takes about 5 min and you see every little smudge on that thing. My next box will be flat black or gray.

I'm a diesel tech also I love red next box would be red. But mines black its nice but shows every smidge and spot just ad bad get whY makes you happy. There's something to be said in the pro world about those dirty boxes they tell a story a life of work there proud. By the way thus get away with yellowand Orange and green becuz they spend all thee time cleaning it not working.

Don't all tool boxes that people work out of get dirty? The lazy assed guy whose place I took really irked my supervisor by, among other things, spending the last 20-30 minutes of the day detailing his box and tools. I don't believe cleanliness is any indicator of ability. My supervisor is the best there is, and his box is a greasy, yet organized, mess.

That said...black all the way.

I'm a classic guy too so my first pic would always be red which is funny as because red is my least favorite color but for a tool box, it just seems "right"

Past that I'd say just get what ever color you like the best or think looks the best. For me that would be Royal Blue.

I don't care for the greens, orange or other weird colors. Black looks good but its the last color I'd buy. After owning a black truck I know first hand that black is impossible to keep clean. Those newer matte blacks boxes look cool as hell but they would be even worse then the glossy black ones to keep clean

I have the classic 78 in gloss black and it is true that it will show smudges and finger prints fast but when it's clean WOW it looks **** P.S get a cover for it because dust settles at night
