For the longest time I thought that red was the only proper color for a tool box. Doesn't matter the brand, just red. Lately, green has been growing on me. What colors do you like?

I'm fine with anything that doesn't make dirt show. Black, red, and blue are the default colours I look for when buying.

I looked at the HF boxes and the lime green and blue would have been my choices. Something a little different after owning red boxes all my life.

red and black for me.

speaking of paint, anybody have problem with snap on blue paint? when my co-worker wiped down his new box with wet (water) MF towel, paint was coming off on a towel. I thought that was pretty weird.

My next box will be Silver, White, Storm Gray, Gunmetal, or Blue. No more red for me.

White. And lime green if no white available.

Red is old and played out.

Though, I have visions of doing a custom powdercoated hammered grey, leaving the drawers red on one of the HF 44"ers.

There is something attractive about Lista light blue, too...

I never understood white. Seems like you'd be wiping fingerprints off it every day. I have a bright "stanley yellow" box, and it always looks dirty. Seems like white would be even worse.

Red.
Although I’ll confess to owning two of the HF Yukon workbenches because they go nicely under my Gladiator wall cabinets.

I'm an odd one out! Yellow is my #1 choice and probably because yellow and orange are my favorite colors. I've had 2 yellow Snap-on KRL boxes dating back to 2001. Will more than likely be my color of choice on the next one too.

Being a old fart I take red. I always had a red tool box and I stick to it. I had my Waterloo top box that I used on the flight line and it faded to dull pink after 30 plus years in and out of the sun all the time. Yep still have a newer red tool box after I retired.

Another traditionalist/old fart here: My vote's for red, but I'd be happy with a first quality box of any color if the price was right.

I’ve always preferred red. Always looked good on tool boxes, especially in a gloomy workshop!

Green? That’s growing on me. I can see why you would!

Some colours I’d avoid, but then again a quality box can look good in some surprising colours.

I saw a picture posted here once, of a big Snap On box in grey. I’d have avoided that colour like the plague, but this thing looked really good and businesslike, so who knows?

For my smaller boxes I’ve started colour coding them, where I can, for the tools inside (Metric, British Standard, SAE, Torx etc) It’s the only way I can keep track of stuff!

Edit - the latest craze, here in the U.K. is to install lighting underneath your box, colour matched to the box naturally! Easy if you have say a red box, but I know a guy who has a blue Hazet one (VW guy of course) who is struggling to find a Hazet blue LED...

Prefer white, option two is black. Hate red, but own red because it was the only color offered at HF at the time. Function over forum every time. That said, if a pink box was cheap and functional, that’s what I’d own. Eventually I’ll paint it white, but not high on the priority list.

I like the old hammered paint/Krinkle paint. I have thought about getting a HF box and repainting it a vintage hammertone color between grey/blue/green

Shite? Isn't that the official Kennedy box color?

:lol_hitti:beer:

Do believe you're right there...

Almost any color but red or purple. Red is boring with all the options we have, and purple, just no.

I'm with Parrothead though: Function over form. I have a red HF top chest because that was what was available, but both of my roll cabs are black.

I've only ever owned red and black. I would really like a nice yellow, but I'm pretty open to color if it is nice and clean.

My first real box was Blue, but it was used and a good price. My first new box was red with black trim. Black and white were also a consideration.
