So I want to get a cover for my box at home, it does not get used everyday but its amazing how much traffic near it can take its toll. I'm trying to prevent any more dings, dents and scratches. I have seen big name snap-on boxes with covers and was wondering where I could find one for my box.

I have the HF 44" box with the 7 drawer end cabinet on one side. My total dimensions are as follows L=64" D=16" H=40". I found a website by the name of comsew.com, with my dimensions a cover comes out to around $130, this is just a little pricey for me but if the quality is there then I might do it.

does anyone have any experience with some good covers for the tool boxes? i really don't wanna buy a big BBQ cover so any help/input is appreciated. Thanks guys.

I have canvas drop cloths I use for covers for my boxes. But that is mainly for overspray, scratches don't make me freak out as bad as overspray on SO boxes lol.

Depends what you want to protect against. The HF moving blanket is a good solution for moderate bumps and will cushion the blow unlike nylon, canvas or the like. Downside is if it ever gets wet, well then you have a sponge sitting on your box.

Comsew.com give your measurements and details of your box and they make a custom cover for ya a bit more pricey then the moving blanket

For a HF box,to me it's not worth it.
Take the money you would spend on the cover and spend it on tools....

understandable i never would've spent the money for my 1975 snap on setup either. i scored a harley edition box however and would like to keep it nice and i'm not someone who's careful ;)

I sold my cover on EBay for the Marco box that I had. When I got a hutch it wouldn’t work any more. Might be able to find one there. If you can find a model with similar dimensions you could buy that. Another option may be a larger grill cover.

I don't know, nothing wrong with taking care of a HF box too. They're still pushing $700.00+ for the 44" and up sizes of combo's.

I have a cover for my MAC box. I used it everyday until I got a different top and it wouldn't work any more. It kept it much cleaner than the other boxes in the shop. It only took a couple of seconds to put it on at night and off in the morning.

A good wax job a couple of times a year makes a HUGE difference in how clean it any box stays. This is a good job for a 12-16 year old boy/girl, they learn how to wax on wax off.

This may sound crazy, but not for this site. Buy a sewing machine and learn to make your own. I made a cover for my welding cart that houses my Lincoln tig, mig, and plasma cutter. I used red and black material and it is more custom than anything I could buy. I bought the machine on CL and the material at Walmart. All total I have about $70 into it. I have the machine to do other projects, and added to my skill set. Watch YT and there are tons of vids to get you going.

I use 1/8" of dust. It keeps the paint in good condition.

Seriously though, I bought a hd sewing machine off ebay and it will do 3 layers of marine grade vinyl no problem. I make my own seat covers and whatnot. Not hard to do, totally custom, fairly inexpensive fir quality material.
