I agree; to each his own.

IMHO, the advertising angle is being given too much credit. For most of us, the only people who see our tool boxes are our families and our buds. Not sure there is much value there to sponsors.

Junkman,
I assume you are only talking about new cars when you say you wouldn't buy a vehicle with a sticker or dealer badge on it. I hope this doesn't prevent you from buying an old Yenko Camaro or a Dart GSS.
With new cars, I take the dealer label OFF right away.

I have stickers on all of my tool boxes of products that I am glad to have purchased. They are not all automotive or tool related, either. What else was I supposed to do with that big CorBon sticker I got from the SHOT show years ago? They are my boxes, I NEVER plan to sell them, and unlike many of the Snap-On boxes seen on this thread, they were not bought on the installment plan.
I had thought about stickering the inside of the garage door, as it is so plain looking, but I have not done it.

On my toolboxes, I have the decals from the dealers I have worked at, a Caterpillar and Cummins plastic emblem, and some ag decals. I have 8 or 10, 15-20 year old Snap On stickers, including the Muscle/Classic car series, and on the door to my shop, I have a door decal from the company I used to work for, and a SAC (Strategic Air Command) decal.
I would love to find a decal, like I once saw, saying: "Protected By MegaTonnage"

Regarding the car dealership decals, I have seen several dealerships (usually from a small town) slap 3 or 4 decals on their vehicles, specifically pickups), one on the tailgate, and one on each front fender, and, in the old days, the name of the dealer stamped into the rear step bumper.

I have made it a point that when I buy a vehicle, to specify, in writing, that I will allow one decal, no more, on the trunk lid, or tailgate.

When I bought my '99 F-250, I went to take delivery, and the dealer had put the decals on the front fenders, I bitched, they removed them, scratched the paint on both fenders, I SHOULD have refused acceptance, but I didn't. This was especially galling, since this was the 2cd Powerstroke I had bought from the dealer, through the same salesman.

And then you have the dealership decals that are not even put on straight.

Here's the only decal I have on my toolbox and may add one more to the left side if I can find a good one.

I remember as a kid playing with Evil Knievel motorcylce you cranked up and the action figure. I also remember being so bummed when the snake river canyon jump fizzled out. I think i was about 7 years old
