Tool box extruded aluminum drawer handles

Hi all,

I'm trying to source a specific shape of aluminum drawer handle. The local Sears Outlet has this refurbished tool chest but the top drawer's pull handle is scratched up pretty good. I don't really care for the red anodized handles anyway, I'd rather them be the natural polished color. The shape looks exactly like many of the HD/Husky and Milwaukee boxes so it's probably from the same supplier. They're friction fit and just slide off. I haven't called Sears or HD customer support yet, mainly because I seriously doubt it will actually get me anywhere.

Does anyone here know who actually makes these boxes and/or a source for this shape extruded aluminum?

Thanks

Try using some automotive or sign vinyl to cover them. I have used it for a similar purpose with good results

Cheap and easy way would be to sand them down with a sheet sander and go for the brushed aluminum look.

yeh I would refinish or vinyl wrap.
I wrapped trim on old black box with matt textured carbon with A1 results, got fold vinyl around long edge make it last well. time consuming but cheap in terms of material cost .

You would be better off refinishing those as others had mentioned. You simply can not just call Home Depot (or others) without model numbers. And so many companies make the boxes for each company. I found that out when I needed a new roller bearing slide for a Husky tool box I got from a damaged goods sales place. Luckily I had the numbers that Home Depot needed.
Geelong made the Husky boxes I have. I know in another thread there was another company mentioned for Husky. I wound up having to call the company direct and I had to pay for it it as well since it was not under warranty (Not bad $25 for 2 slides)

if those are anodized red, just spray Easy Off oven cleaner on them and wipe it off (remove them from cabinet first!).
