Went to harbor freight tonight to pick up the top cabinet for the 44. Boss man said its okay to take the tow truck! SWEET!
People were giving me some weird looks when I brought the truck around and lowered the bed to load it to load a tool box:rocker:View media item 40379

Until now, I never quite understood the full magnitude of why many people think Americans are spoiled and living in a land of excess. If you lived in one of many other countries you would pull up to the loading dock at a hypothetical Harbor Freight in a bicycle. As you finish loading your new top chest onto the back and start pedaling away, you would get funny looks from other people who are wondering why you aren't carrying 99 more. :lol_hitti

That's not overkill
Overkill is when you use the same truck to move a hand carry type box

I like how the OP centered the top box over the rear axle so as not to throw off the weight distribution and handling characteristics of the truck. I wouldn't want to see the headlights pointing at the sky as he drives down the street.

Reminds me of a logging crew that runs around here. When they have their lowboy unloaded and are taking it back to the shop or are going to pick up the equipment, they have an old toy dozer they strap to it. It's pretty funny when you come up to it, a 40' trailer being towed by an old Pete and in the center of the the trailer you see this something strapped in the middle and as you pass you see this toy. First time I saw it I almost wrecked from laughing so hard!

I've seen that on other skateboards as well. Usually like a Tonka dump truck with a big-*** ratchet strap over the top.

I say good for you. Use what you have at your disposal. A flatbed/carrier is also an excellent way to move large mechanic's tool boxes.

Had to use a flatbed to move my Snap-On box loaded with tools. We couldn't push it up ramps to load it on a trailer when loaded with tools. Use what you have available to make the job go faster and safer is what I say!
