Picked this one up locally from Facebook marketplace,

Had a few tools in that I wanted, but I'm struggling with a maker for the box.

Can any one give me any pointers please?

It looks like snap on or MBC. Snap on should be stamped in most snap on boxes from that era on the back bottom right side along with a model number.

Thanks, Proto stuff is quite rare over here.

I think I've a few 1/2" sockets but not much else. I did end up with a nice Par-X set a while back.

I believe it's a Snap On made in Canada.

Ding ding ding! Tell him what he's won Johnny!

Attached is a pic of mine I restored. I don't know the year, but assume it's '80s as well.

Does yours have a rebate for the badge then? Mine has a rectangle where a badge would have been. You can see it in pic 2.

That is what I saw as well, which leads me to be pretty sure it is a snap on look alike. Combined with the lock ovals(?) instead of holes on the side frame rails.

Look it over very well for a stamping. Also post pics of the drawer slides.

It's 26" wide, no? If snap on anything it would be a KRA55, the 53's had a much shallower top till.

I'm thinking your model is older than mine and came with the square Snap On name badge. Mine is a KRA55 and is stamped in the back.
