Tool Box ID??

Found a cool old tool box at a pawn shop in Farmington MO a week or so ago and wondered if any of you box gurus could look at the features and tell me who made it? It does have the round corners on the bottom, but the handle is metal, not leather. The definition in the lid may be one clue, as could be the lock mechanism. The red paint outside is coming off with difficulty, but the paint inside may well be the original color. I've ruled out Kennedy, as it's nothing like any of the kennedys I've had pass through the shop, so I'm stumped for sure.

No clue, but if I had to guess age, I'd put that **** into the 40's or 50's. get the paint off the hasp and see if their are any markings.
