I'm looking into getting a second Tool Box, I have looked around but all the ones I have seen are way too expensive, I want a nice 5 or 6 drawer with or with out a bottom, If someone has seen or found any could you gimme a link or post the price and maybe some pics. It would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks alot,

Dale

Next time your local Snap-On or MAC Tools dealer comes by, tell them you're interested in buying a used box or combo set and they'll put their feelers out. Many of their customers trade up for a bigger/newer box but wants someone to take their old one. If the Snap-on/MAC dealer picks it up, they may charge you a slightly higher price for the service, but if they pass the number to you so you can contact the other mechanic directly, they are providing a customer service for you as a gesture. With emails, digital cameras, you may see this box before you make the commitment. Usually the dealer has it's own territory so you don't need to travel far. Tool dealers usually pass the word of mouth around and see many shops each day so they can do the leg work for you. Just tell them what you want and how much you're willing to pay. Even if you don't have a tool dealer that stops by, next time you see one in a local shop, just stop by and give him your phone number and name and he'll do the rest. Saves the shipping cost if purchased on ebay! You don't have to invest in anything and get to see it before you buy. You may even make a friend. Cheers

Ya but I live in Canada and there isn't alot of snap-on or mac dealers around here. I just wanted to know whats out there for low prices as a secondary box for storing some extra tools and bigger tools that take up there own drawers.

If you check my posting location, I live in Canada also too! I know in rural Canada, there may be areas where there is no mobile tool dealers avaliable, but there has to be a pawn shop or second hand dealer who may just keep your name and phone number if a nice box or combo unit shows up. Thinking outside the "Box".

A good brand that doesnt cost a whole lot is the Clarke brand....

They carry the Clarke tool boxes at the local Tractor Supply. To be honest, I am not very impressed by them. The metal is a very thin gauge, and the drawers nearly sag under their own weight.

Too many tools, and nowhere to put them

Clarke boxes are sub-Harbor Freight quality.

I agree with Rambler, I could have bought a Craftsman Ball Bearing 6 drawer top and 5 drawer bottom for $100 from the snap on guy. He just wanted it "off his truck!"
Yes, I did pass it up, I'm an idiot.

I'm with Wilbilt on this one.

I was excited when a TSC opened less than two miles from where I live. I looked through the tool section and then was dissapointed. The Clarke boxes were nice and shiny to look at. Then I opened one, flexed the drawer and realized this box was not built to last. Poor welds, thin steel, hard drawer pull on even an empty drawer. I seriously think the Harbor Freight large toolbox was built better.

Save your money. Don't buy a Clarke.

P.S. I would not turn down a Waterloo (Rebadged Craftsman) ball bearing toolbox for $100 bucks.

You sound like a very intelligent person.

Go to Harbor Freight. I'm sure you would be happy with their tool boxes.

Doesn't MasterCraft handle the bulk of tool sales up north?? You might check them out.

If you're looking for a 2nd box that won't get used a lot, just about anything will work for long term storage. You might just go to some shops in your area and ask if any techs have any spare boxes they may want to sell. I get at least one guy a week walking into my service dept. asking about tool boxes.
