Ok if you lock your box did you make a special effort to have all the keys match? I have a C-Man 40" with the intermedite 1 drawer and having trouble Sears ordering a lock that match's the top box keys.. Just wondering if anyone else just lives with lots of keys or makes the effort to have them match

I have 2 keys (one for the box and one for the cart) but if I ever add a side or top box, I'm going to invest the few $$ it takes to match the locks. Those Snap On wrench keys are chunky little buggers!

Any good locksmith should be able to match the keys for you for a very small sum of money. In another lifetime I actually went through the Foley Belsaw locksmithing courses, and made sure mine knows it. I brought him six auto locks last year (ignition, trunk, two doors, two T tops), that had three different keys, and he matched them for a grand total of $12.

it may be easier to have sears order a set of 3 locks
they have a kit with 3 locks so you can have a top/bottom/and mid unit the same
the kit is under $20

When I bought my first SO box it was a bottom/top combo and came with different keys so I ordered another lock to match one of the others so it would be 1 key for both. $50 later it's working out. If both keys are similar it's a real PITA finding the correct one.

Yeah I was going to do that but... This combo box has a total of 4 locks. I am going to keep trying to get all the locks to match. I should have the bottom box lock on order but the middle lock they were unsure of and was going to have someone call me.

They can/would make 2 car ignitions fit one key? I never knew that!

You will have problems getting the locks to match the current lock you have. I went through about 6 months of trying to get them to match, including several calls from the corporate office. I had wrote a letter to the CEO, I did get a response but they basically couldn't help me.

What you will get, if you call the Sears number and order new locks, is new locks all keyed to 8052. This seems to be the standard replacement number that Sears sells.

I wish your locksmith worked in my town. When last I checked, they wanted $20 apiece to match keys to another lock.

at one time i had as many as 8 boxes at the shop.

i only carried one key,

all the rest of the keys were locked in the box i had the key for.

with my boxes scattered in my service truck, shop, garage and basement, i quit trying to keep track of the keys and leave everything unlocked.

only time i lock them is if i'm moving them.
