I don't come on here a lot, but I figured you guys would appreciate this.

For Christmas 08, my girlfriend gave me a decent Mastercraft 3 drawer hand box for me to haul around in my truck for emergencies. It was mis-priced, and she ended up scoring it for 17 bucks!

Any ways, I'm obsessive about tool storage, especially in a vehicle where they bounce, and rattle around. I've been toying with ideas of cutting little tool templates out of foam for organization, and felt this was the best time to try it out.

The actual foam is a simple sleeping mat I picked up at a local camping supply store. Cost me around 20 bucks for a 6ft x 1.5ft sheet. I cut out pieces to fit in the drawers of the box, then laid out, and traced the tools. Afterwards, I carefully cut the traces out with a razor blade. The result:

Top drawer currently holds my extra fuses, and multimeter. A socket set will be fitted in here in the near future

1st drawer, Cutters, allen, and torx wrenches, silicone, knife, blades, and lighter.

2nd drawer, all of my ratcheting wrenches (best tools ever by the way)

3rd drawer, some assorted screwdrivers.

As you can see, the tools fit securely into cut-outs.

Overall, I'm quite impressed. I may sacrifice a little bit of storage space, but everything is really secure, and I can also open the drawers without all of the tools jamming them up. Plus, it looks pimp to all of you tool gurus :)
