Not exactly sure where to post this. Just wondering if anyone knows where to go in Houston Texas to have an old Snap On friction slide tool box stripped and repainted.

Please delete or relocate thread if not appropriate.

Thanks

Ricks Restorations? :lol_hitti

Unless you just don't have the time or ambition, they are pretty easy to do yourself. Check with a few local metal cleaning, painting and powdercoating shops to ask how much they would charge for stripping and painting parts that you bring in disassembled (chassis, drawers). That is the biggest hassle. Paying for or evening finding someone to do a complete restoration (bring in old box assembled, leave with restored box assembled) is going to be difficult. Maybe a local member on here could help you out.

What boxes are you restoring?

There's a guy that has a shop in Dallas called Southwest Rod and Custom, he has a YouTube channel. I've chatted with him online before, be warned he is a straight up tell it like it is guy, so don't get offended if he quotes you a price, you have a heart attack and then he bi%^hes you out because he will then explain WHY he quoted a price. But like I said, he really is a great guy, just blunt. There are plenty of threads on guys redoing their boxes on here. It's not that hard persay, it's just time consuming. It's just like painting a car pretty well, it takes forever to get it ready to paint and then it only takes about an hour to spray the shiny stuff on!!

Meh still the same state......... Wasn't really thinking. In that case stop by a bodyshop or 2 maybe hit the antique malls and ask around if there isn't someone who restores 'smaller' items. On the other hand, Texas has an awesome interstate system it's danged near flat and straight as an arrow (come to my neck of the woods, anywhere has straighter roads), tie the steering wheel straight and set the cruise lol!
