Its been a while since Ive been on. I recently sold my Snap-On cabinet. (41" 21 drawer) I was wondering if the HF US General box is still the best bang for the buck. It seems that the market is saturated with home owner boxes.

Im looking for one or more rollers to throw my tools back into. Feel free to throw out some deals or suggestions. Budget is 650$

The HF 44" roller is "on sale" for $339.99 thru 4-30-17, normally $369.99
Super Coupon #84979299, limit 5

But it will not be equal to your Snap-On box, so I don't know if you would be happy with it. Depends on how old your previous box was and what kind of condition it was in. Check it out in the store and let us know what you think.
Hope this helps.

Have a look at masterforce 46" as maybe a fit and finish you prefer. would stretch the budget but they good solid buy when on rebate or sale .
HF is one of easiest low cost to get as always on sale plus everyone got access to HF, not bad boxes at lowest sale deals but do need bit of luck get a perfect one .

I have the 44" HF roller and top box. Highly recommended, I replaced a smaller Snap-On box. I know Snap-on is good stuff but I have such a hard time paying 10 times what the HF one costs and its pretty sturdy. The Snap-On is NOT 10x better for sure.

Ok, so I bought the HF combo. 625$ otd. Initial impressions are: it's great and highly functional. Bearing are on par with my SnapOn. Paint job isn't good but I don't care.

The biggest drawback to nearly all of the boxes described above is the shallow dimension of the drawers (front to back). It's a problem my own box has as well so I can't claim any special wisdom when I bought my set of Cman Griplatch boxes some years ago. But use has brought this realization.

I would think that if HF would build their boxes with a 20" (even more) front-to-back drawer dimension they would have a killer box even if the cost was proportionally highter.

Be aware the HF 44" is only 42" without the handle! Not a big deal, but if you're comparing it to other boxes.....

I bought one last month and really like it.
Bought the side cabinet a week later. Bought it online (out of stock at store) and shipping was only $6.99.

Have you seen the new Husky boxes? Nearly identical design that is manufactured by the same company...except they are a little deeper than the Milwaukee boxes.

Just looked at one today. They are nice. Like the deep drawers that are deep enough for my routers. Also has a nice compartmrnt on top. Sorry, I didn't get model number or size. Price was about $500. Do check them out.

+1 on that, if they pushed the drawer front to back length of the 44" to between 20 and 22" it would be market leader at the price point (even if 40 bucks more. That main reason the 56 or 72" can be better as have more drawer front to back length.
44" has nice drawers for mechanic style tools but 16" drawer front to back is tight . 18" needs be minimum with 19 or 20" being ideal for the 44".

Couldn't agree more. That's the one downfall that I see is the drawer depth.
