Remember the AIWA brand from the 90's? Rockin' the old AM/FM/CD stereo in the garage. Would like to see some nice integrated systems in tool cabinets.

Eh, okay, how about "speakers providing the correct impedance"?

Yes, I was not technically correct, but I think that matching the numbers on the little stickers on the backs of the devices would suffice...

:lol_hitti

Absolutely.

I picked up an old '39 Zenith that I will refinish and use in the garage. It won't be anything near as fancy as what I did with our '38 GE, but it'll put out sound.

When I used to work at the junk yard (best job ever), during crushing season we all ran Front End Loaders moving cars to/from the crushers and trucks.

Being on that thing with no music was brutal, so I rigged up my own system, however, probably not the most tool box efficient.

I duct taped a car radio to a car battery and stuck a speaker (using its magnet) to the top of it. Wired it up and had a portable (though very heavy) boom box for nothing.

Just thought I'd throw the advice out there for any fellow rednecks with no pride in the appearance of their stereo.

another ex-junkyard worker here. i worked at pick n' pull processing cars on the drain racks. processed approx 40-60 cars 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, all year long. lot of cars came through, and they all had interesting **** left in them. i built a stereo for the shop building i worked in entirely out of components found in cars. had a rack unit and speakers strung all over the drain rack. it was loud! you could hear it out in the field. that was a fun job. got paid to break sh!t.

Frustrated? Go crush a car! It was great. Ever find anything worth keeping in the cars? I found a lot of stuff, people would be amazed at what gets left behind when someone gets rid of a clunker.

This one sits on top of one of my tool boxes but it isn't the sound system for my garage. I use it when working outside or I throw it and my i-pod in the back of my Jeep when we head out for a day.

I built a top out of mdf and mounted a car stereo and ran wires down to the large drawer to a car battery for power. We roll are boxes all over the shop so a cord wouldnt work. The stereo wasnt in the hole at the time of the picture.

I have my laptop sitting on my roll cab all day so i used a computer 3 pc. subwoofer system and used the 2 speakers up top of my hutch and have the sub under my cab it never moves so wiring is not a problem.

I ran the cord through the back for the input and just plug my laptop in when i getto work i use slacker radio to listen to todays hits station all day but it is nice for news as well.

I do really like the snap on setup with the yellow box that was posted above. i might have to fabricate a filler panel for mine like that and mount a car stereo to it like he did i like that idea or possible my own variation of it
i do not know how i would get through the day with out music.
